Chasing Happiness

An honest podcast about finding happiness, what it really means and the process of getting there. This podcast will focus on conversations with people from around the world who explain what happiness is to them, how they found it (or are working on finding it in life) and what lessons they've learned along the way. We can all learn from each others life stories, struggles and triumphs. We live in this amazingly diverse world where life, culture and daily life varies day to day. By hearing from people who come from different backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles we will explore how we are all simply looking to live a life full of joy and purpose every day.

This year it may not feel like Christmas and if that's how you feel, that's okay.

Dec 14, 2020

Today on the podcast I had the pleasure of chatting with Sarah from Community Crew. A Charity Organization in the Niagara Region of Southern Ontario that feeds more than 1000 nutritious lunches to kids in need each week.

We chat about the program, how we can all help, and why it matters so much this year. Check out their website https://www.communitycrew.ca and donate if you can.

I was shocked last week to learn that studies are showing we are losing our ability to think critically. How can such an important skill for our personal growth and well-being be disappearing?

Did you know today is Giving Tuesday?

Nov 23, 2020

Today on the podcast I chat with R. Dawn Hutchinson about being an Author, how she ended up becoming one, and what life is like when you make up worlds full of magic. She talks openly about 2020 and chats about writing her first book without telling the people in her life at first.

With two books under her belt, she has some great advice for people looking to make changes or try something new in life.

If you want to check out more, which I highly recommend, visit her website at https://www.rdawnhutchinson.com/books

Every year as part of the Chasing Happiness community I host 12 Days Of Giveaways so today on the podcast I chat about how you can take part in that and all the other fun things I do over the holiday season to spread love and light.

Nov 10, 2020

This week on the podcast I talk about the 3 blessings exercise and why it might help you if you find it hard to create a gratitude journal.

Nov 3, 2020

The world looks a lot different these days. Some people never thought this would last 8 months but I think we all should pat ourselves on the back for making it this far.

Oct 26, 2020

Covid-19 has changed a lot of things this year but we can still enjoy Halloween while staying safe and having fun.

Oct 19, 2020

We all feel like we don't have enough time. Not enough hours in each day to get it all done. The truth is we just prioritize our time differently based on what we value. So the question is what do you value? Where are you spending your time?

Oct 12, 2020

This week's Podcast is an update to my 30 days caffeine-free from Aug - Sept.

It did not go as well as I hoped, but I did learn a lot and I sleep better.

Oct 5, 2020

We have gotten so used to having noise in the background of every minute of every day. It has caused us to disconnect from our minds, our bodies, and our thoughts.

This week on the podcast we are going to learn to sit in silence.

Sep 28, 2020

Taking time away from technology is important for our mental health. Now with Covid-19 and our social lives dependent on zoom meetings and social media we need a break now more than we ever have before.

Sep 21, 2020

This week on the podcast I talk about why we need to stop paying attention to the number on the scale. A number on a scale doesn't tell us anything about our health and only adds to our stress and unhappiness.

Sep 14, 2020

As we get older we stop looking at the world with amazement and a sense of awe. We no longer see the universe as magical. We don't wonder how bees fly or why butterflies are so beautiful.

We need more awe and wonder in our lives.

Sep 7, 2020

When was the last time you did something just for yourself?
Something that benefited no one other than you?

This week on the podcast I'm talking about why we all need to be investing in ourselves.

Aug 31, 2020

We have to be careful about how harshly we judge people for mistakes they made decades ago. People change over time, society changes over time. What we think is okay today will be different than what we thought was okay 30 years ago.

This week on the podcast I chat about all of this and why we should be cautious.

Aug 24, 2020

Thank you for listening. When I started this podcast I didn't think it would be something I enjoyed. This week on the podcast I talk about how we made it to 75 episodes and thank you.

Aug 17, 2020

A lot of times we try to please everyone. We get caught up in trying to make everyone else happy at the expense of our own happiness.

This week on the podcast I talk about why we have to learn to be okay with the fact that not everyone will love us no matter what we do.

Aug 10, 2020

What do you have as a part of your daily life that makes you smile for no reason?
This week on the podcast I talk about why we all need more glitter in our lives.

Aug 3, 2020

This week on the podcast I talk about why we shouldn't be comparing our journey to someone else. We need to give ourselves grace and honour where we are on our path.

Jul 27, 2020

This week on the podcast we revisit an episode from earlier this year. This is our most listened to episode so far this year so I thought it was worth revisiting.

Jul 20, 2020

This week on the podcast I'm talking wine, family-run businesses, and Multiple Sclerosis with Justine and Stephanie.

Over 77,000 live with MS; almost ¾ are women. On average, 8 women and 3 men are diagnosed with MS every day in Canada.

Canada has one of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis (MS) in the world. While it is most often diagnosed in young adults aged 20 to 49, younger children and older adults are also diagnosed with the disease.

To purchases the wine we chat about please go to www.carolinecellars.com and part of the proceeds go to MS research.

Also check out the MS Society of Canada for facts, information and to donate MS Society of Canada

Jul 13, 2020

This week on the podcast I'm talking about the ACEs research and why it matters to all of us.

I am not an expert but I believe that we can all learn from this study and improve our lives.
